Field Lodge care home on London Road welcomed the people of St. Ives through its doors for an event to celebrate Care Home Open Day.
Field Lodge was one of thousands of care homes across the UK which took part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with even more people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.
A sing-a-long of residents’ favourite songs was one of the highlights of the day at the Field Lodge open day. There was also a tea party and many people took the opportunity to get involved in a fun group exercise session.
Lisa Houghton, home manager at Field Lodge, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike. We all are proud of the warm and welcoming quality care environment we have created here at Field Lodge, and we took great delight in showcasing our home and all the good work we do here.
“The day was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links with the local community.”
