Foxbridge House care home on Sevenoaks Road welcomed the people of Orpington through its doors for an event to celebrate Care Home Open Day.
Foxbridge House was one of thousands of care homes across the UK which took part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with even more people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.
Live entertainment from Coopers School Steel Band proved to be one of the highlights of the day at Foxbridge House; and residents and visitors also took the opportunity to get involved and play the steel drums. ZooLab were at the home throughout the day and everyone had fun getting up-close to a collection of creatures and critters.
Carol McCormack, home manager at Foxbridge House, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike. We all are proud of the warm and welcoming quality care environment we have created here at Foxbridge House, and we took great delight in showcasing our home and all the good work we do here.
“The day was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links with the local community.”
