Francis Court was one of thousands of care homes across the UK which took part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with even more people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.
Residents and visitors got into the party spirit at Francis Court with a host of activities themed around the Rio Carnival. Everyone enjoyed entertainment from Fred Delias and his dog, as well as a performance from singer, Jo York. There was also a barbecue in the care home’s garden.
Mary Ann Ballesteros, home manager at Francis Court said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike. We all are proud of the warm and welcoming quality care environment we have created here at Francis Court, and we took great delight in showcasing our home and all the good work we do here.
“The day was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links with the local community.”
