Care UK in Joint Project for New Nursing Homes in Islington

Company news

Care UK, the specialist health and social care provider, Islington Council Social Services and Islington Primary Care Trust are working together to provide care services for people suffering from Alzheimers and other forms of dementia at the Muriel Street Resource Centre.

The centre includes a unit for more complex nursing needs and a day centre that provides services for 20 people.

Tony Hosking, Managing Director, Residential Care, of Care UK said: "The opening of this care centre marks a step change in the quality of the care environment available to the older people of Islington and represents the Council and the Primary Care Trust's commitment to the provision of high quality services for years to come."

Councillor Meral Ece said: "This is part of a longer term programme of building and refurbishment of Islington Council's homes and centres for older people. We have all worked together to develop these services. The health and wellbeing of older people is a priority and these new homes will provide excellent modern facilities in Islington. A second home and day centre will open in Islington in summer 2005 to complete the programme of residential developments for older people with dementia."
