Christmas comes to Glastonbury Court

December 11th 2018

It’s time to deck the halls as Glastonbury Court invites the local community to celebrate the festive season at its annual Christmas Fayre.

On Saturday 15th December the team will open the doors to the home from 2pm - 4.30pm and bring some Christmas spirit to the town.

Visitors and residents will be able to start their Christmas shopping at a number of stalls, selling everything from clothes and cakes to candles and books. Guests will also have the opportunity to get involved in some festive arts and crafts by making their own decorations, and take part in some fun Christmas games.

There will be a festive grotto to give younger visitors the opportunity to meet Father Christmas himself, and festive punch, mulled wine and mince pies for the adults to enjoy.

Sharlene Van Tonder, home manager at Glastonbury Court, said: “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at Glastonbury Court, and we’re delighted to be bringing our family, friends and neighbours together for an afternoon of seasonal celebrations!

“The team have been busy pulling together a packed day of activities for all ages for what’s set to be a fun, festive afternoon. Our Christmas Fayre also provides us with the opportunity to say a huge thank you to the local community for their ongoing support – we hope to see lots of local people there on the day!”

Our 80-bed care home specialises in supporting people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Keeping active is the key to staying independent, so we support residents to take part in a range of activities and even have their own small role in the home if that appeals to them – like laying the table for dinner.
