The enthusiastic and imaginative team at Clara Court care home in Maidenhead have been celebrating after winning an award for Outstanding Community Involvement.
The award, for the team who most successfully and imaginatively involved their local community to the benefit of their residents, was announced at Care UK’s Annual Excellence Awards ceremony and gala dinner.
Staff have worked hard to develop excellent relationships with local communities and companies in the area and, thanks to the loan of an adapted mini bus by Vision Hire, residents have enjoyed weekly outings including pub lunches, shopping expeditions and trips to the seaside.
The home also works closely with other care homes and sheltered housing schemes in the area to organise joint social events where residents can come together and make new friends
Manager Leigh Reid said “I am delighted that Clara Court won this award. Everyone has worked hard to build strong relationships that benefit our residents, especially our activities team - Lisa Reid and Emma Hoolahan - who are the driving force behind our community participation and involvement.”
