Colchester-based care provider shortlisted for two major awards

November 12 2019

Care UK Residential Care Services has been shortlisted in two categories of the prestigious national Laing Buisson Awards.

A commitment to excellence in its 120 homes has seen Care UK shortlisted in the Large Home Provider and the Management Excellence categories of the awards, the winners of which will be announced by comedian and former mental health nurse Jo Brand at a ceremony in Westminster on 13th  November 2019.

Care UK’s commitment to delivering exceptional care to its 7000 residents has seen the Care Quality Commission award ‘Outstanding’ inspection ratings to 14 of its 120 homes.

Whilst improving quality, the last seven years has also seen Care UK add 44 new homes to its portfolio - 10 in Suffolk which form part of the ground-breaking partnership with the county council.

Managing Director Andrew Knight said: “Our vision is supported by three core values: caring, passion and teamwork. These are values devised and lived by our 7,000 colleagues across the country.

“Our shared aim and ethos is fulfilling lives; it is central to our approach and it enables us to consistently deliver high quality, personalised care and support to every resident living in our homes.

“Our approach to care is structured around four core pillars: health and wellbeing; living well with dementia; meaningful lifestyles; and dining with dignity.  By investing to strengthen these pillars – through colleague training, improved processes and new technologies – we aim to enable all residents living in our homes to live as independent and fulfilling a life as possible.

“These quality improvements are also reflected in our resident and relative satisfaction scores with recent satisfaction scores at an all-time high of 93.5 per cent.

“I would like to thank all our colleagues for their hard work and dedication that has seen us achieve this recognition as well as the impressive CQC and Care Inspectorate reports we’ve received over the past year.”
