There was double cause for celebration for staff at Heatherbrook nursing home in Romford after winning two awards at Care UK’s Annual Excellence Awards ceremony.
Heatherbrook staff beat off stiff competition to become the proud recipients of the Excellence in Dementia Care award, which recognises the team that has made the greatest contribution to high quality dementia care services. They also won the Quality Care award for the team that has developed and maintained the highest standard of care service quality during the year.
Alison Graham, who manages the 45-bed home for older people with dementia, was delighted at the award. She said: “During the year we have built on Heatherbrook’s local reputation for excellent dementia care. The team’s multi-disciplinary and groundbreaking approach has proved so successful that it has been the subject of presentations and discussions with local primary care trusts and other care providers.”
