Elizabeth Lodge staff, residents and their relatives invited local Enfield people to join in the fun at our annual fete.
Many of our 79 residents, many are frail and elderly and some have dementia but as manager Peter Slaney explains they take an active part in running the home and helping with activities.
Peter said: “Our Activity Based Care approach is designed to ensure the residents' independence is maximised after moving into a Care UK home.
Each resident is supported to succeed in helping with a range of daily tasks, often reflecting their own life history or work experiences, from maintaining a garden to helping with jobs they would normally do in their own home."
The fete was no different, with residents working alongside staff thinking up ideas and helping the activity co-ordinator by wrapping tombola prizes and making bunting.
Peter added: “We are very fortunate at Elizabeth Lodge to have two acres of beautiful grounds and everyone enjoyed the entertainment and visiting the stalls in this lovely setting.”
