Care UK’s Ellesmere House care home in Chelsea, is inviting local people to visit the home on Nightingale Place on Thursday 16th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
From 10am-4pm, the team at Ellesmere House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
The theme of this year’s event at Ellesmere House is celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday, complete with a screening of the Queen’s coronation. Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy live entertainment from the 1940s-1950s. There will also be a banquet in the garden, and Ellesmere’s very own Bake Off competition.
Allison Jones, home manager at Ellesmere House, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Ellesmere House has to offer.
“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Thursday 16th June and welcoming the people of Chelsea to be a part of it.”
Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Ellesmere House will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age.
