Francis Court celebrated Care Home Open Day with fun in the sun

July 13th 2017

Francis Court invited local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

On Friday 16th June the team at Francis Court opened the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event in celebration of Care Home Open Day. The countrywide initiative aims to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

Francis Court organised a summer garden party to celebrate the open day. With guests enjoying a delicious afternoon tea and barbecue prepared by the care home’s chefs. Fun was had by all the family with face painting, a magician, balloon making, garden games, and entertainment throughout the afternoon including live music from ‘Jazz on Easy.’

The Mayor of Crawley, Councillor Brian Quinn and his wife also attended the afternoon and joined visitors for afternoon tea.

The friendly team at Francis Court were also on hand to give advice and information on the different types of care they provide.

Mary Ann Ballesteros, home manager at Francis Court, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.

“We thoroughly enjoyed opening our doors to the community to showcase everything Francis Court has to offer and the difference care homes make to residents’ lives and their wellbeing. All of the staff, residents and visitors really enjoyed the open day and we look forward to taking part again next year.”
