Skylark House is inviting the local community to a free event offering support to people caring for a loved one living with dementia.
On Tuesday 27th June, from 1pm-4pm and 6pm-9pm, the team at Skylark House will open the doors to the care home on St Marks Lane for its free ‘Thinking differently about dementia’ event.
Dementia specialist, Aimee Day, from Dementia Adventure, will be covering a number of topics to help people understand what it might be like to live with dementia. The sessions will explore how memories are lost, the language changes that can take place, and why early diagnosis is important. Aimee will also be on hand to offer positive approaches and practical advice for those caring for a loved one living with dementia.
After the event, those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet the team at Skylark House and take a tour of the care home.
Skylark House home manager, Devendra Lallchand, said: “Here at Skylark House we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of those caring for loved ones living with dementia.
“Previous events have proven to be incredibly popular, so we are looking forward to welcoming local people to Skylark House for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.
