Free advice event returns to Mildenhall Lodge

February 26th 2018

Mildenhall Lodge is inviting the local community to its free event for families caring for a loved one living with dementia.

On Thursday 8th March from 10am-12 noon, the team at Mildenhall Lodge will open the doors for its Dementia Awareness event.

Dementia champion, and senior customer relations manager at Care UK, David Martins, will be on hand to help people understand what it might be like to live with dementia.

David will be covering a number of topics and offering practical advice, including how to overcome communication barriers and discovering positive approaches to living with dementia.

After the event there will be complementary refreshments and a Q&A session. Those who attend will also have the chance to meet the team at Mildenhall Lodge, as well as take a closer look at the care home.

Katy Hughes, home manager at Mildenhall Lodge, said: “Here at Mildenhall Lodge, we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of those caring for loved ones loving with dementia.

“We are delighted to welcome David to the home to share his knowledge and experiences and we look forward to welcoming local people to Mildenhall Lodge for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring morning of information and guidance.”

We believe in supporting families, whether they have loved ones living with us at Mildenhall Lodge, or they’re caring for them at home in the community. We run a number of events that local people can come along to for extra help, and we’ve also set up a Carers’ Support Group that meets regularly.
