Buchanan Court is inviting the local community to its free informative event on ‘Living well with diabetes’.
On Wednesday 14th November, from 2pm - 4pm, the team at Buchanan Court will open the doors to the care home for its free event offering advice and guidance to all.
Sonia Wijesundare, diabetes specialist from Diabetes UK, will be sharing information and advice on living well with, as well as preventing, type two diabetes.
After the talk there will be a Q&A session, and visitors will have the opportunity to meet the team at Buchanan Court and take a tour of the care home.
Buchanan Court home manager, Ruth Halls, said: “Here at Buchanan Court we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of carers. Type-two diabetes has become common among older people, so learning how this can be prevented and managed is something that those caring for a loved one can benefit greatly from.
“We are looking forward to welcoming people to Buchanan Court for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
