St Vincent’s is asking the people of Hammersmith to join in with the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 29th September to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
From 11.30am, St Vincent’s House is inviting the community to join residents for a morning of coffee, cake and catch-ups to help raise money for the 2.5 million people living with cancer across the UK.
Every year Macmillan organises the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in kitchens, offices and village halls across the globe to fundraise for people living with cancer. Since the very first coffee morning in 1990, over £165.5 million has been raised for the charity, enabling it to support individuals from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
Customer relations manager Lorelei Shepherd, explained why St Vincent’s House is taking part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning: “The difficulty of facing cancer is a problem most of us know far too well, whether through watching the struggle of a friend or family member, or battling the illness ourselves – so we understand the importance of the work that Macmillan do.
“This coffee morning gives us a wonderful opportunity to invite local people, family and friends to join us for a fun morning, while raising funds to support the vital services provided by Macmillan. It’s set to be a great morning, and we hope the local community will join the Care UK team who will have been busy whisking up a storm for the event!”
