The Potteries is asking the people of Poole to join in with the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 29th September to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
From 2pm-4pm, The Potteries is inviting the community to join residents for an afternoon of coffee, cake and catch-ups to help raise money for the 2.5 million people living with cancer across the UK.
Guests will enjoy a relaxing afternoon sharing a cuppa with residents, along with a tempting selection of homemade cakes and treats - all of which will be available for a small donation to Macmillan.
Every year Macmillan organises the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in kitchens, offices and village halls across the globe to fundraise for people living with cancer. Since the very first coffee morning in 1990, over £165.5 million has been raised for the charity, enabling it to support individuals from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
Home manager, Zita Turner, explained why The Potteries is taking part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning: “The difficulty of facing cancer is a problem most of us know far too well, whether through watching the struggle of a friend or family member, or battling the illness ourselves – so we understand the importance of the work that Macmillan does.
“This coffee morning gives us a wonderful opportunity to invite local people, family and friends to join us for a fun afternoon, while raising funds to support the vital services provided by Macmillan. It’s set to be a great event, and we hope the local community will join the Care UK team who will have been busy whisking up a storm!”
