Pinetum is inviting local people to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
On Saturday 15th June 2019, from 3.30pm - 5pm, the team at Pinetum will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event to celebrate Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
This year’s theme celebrates the role of arts within care, which is important in encouraging residents’ self-expression, and helps to create meaningful experiences.
Pinetum has organised an art-themed party to celebrate the open day, with entertainment, activities and creative fun. Visitors can look forward to a 1950s-themed outdoor celebration, with a live performance from local performer, Max, and exciting art activity stations, along with a 50s-inspired menu including burgers and milkshakes.
Sally Cooper, home manager at Pinetum, said: “Care Home Open Day is such a wonderful opportunity for our home to connect with the local community and show what it’s really like to live in a care home. We’re counting down the days until we welcome the people of Chester to Pinetum.
“The residents are really excited to showcase their artistic skills, and we’re all particularly looking forward to getting our feet tapping to Max’s performance. I know the residents and community are going to have a great time!”
