Weald Heights is inviting local people to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
On Friday 28th June, from 11am - 4pm, the team at Weald Heights, on Bourchier Close, will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event to celebrate Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
This year’s theme celebrates the role of arts within care, which is important in encouraging residents’ self-expression, and helps to create meaningful experiences.
Weald Heights has organised an art-themed party to celebrate the open day, with entertainment, activities and creative fun. Visitors can look forward to Colourscape's specialist sensory room, where guests can create and control their own music and paint with colour and light, a concert performed by residents, and live entertainment from a singer.
Maria Covington, home manager at Weald Heights, said: “Everyone at Weald Heights is getting excited for our Care Home Open Day event – it’s always great to see new faces visiting our home, as well as welcoming old friends, and I know this year will be just the same.
“The residents are really looking forward to the activities we have planned.”
