Everyone was in the party spirit as residents and the team at Ponteland Manor celebrated the home’s 15th anniversary with friends old and new.
The home was full of the sound of singing thanks to a visiting accordionist and the ukulele group the Silver Stars from the Sage Theatre in Newcastle. Care UK Regional Director Karen Morrison and representatives of the McMillan Society, the Stroke Association and the Parkinson Society also all visited the home for the event.
To mark the occasion, resident Irene Jacobs, who has lived at the home since it first opened in 1997, was presented with a posy of flowers specially designed in her favourite colours.
And what would a party be without a cake? As well as a Care UK themed cake organised by one of the team, Annette, the guests also enjoyed cakes made and decorated by Care Assistant Ann-Marie Saddler.
Manager Jeanette Leadbitter said: “The residents, their relatives and the team had a great time. Ponteland Manor had provided 15 years of great person-centred care and we are looking forward to our next 15.”
