Resident Herbert Davies had a wonderful time celebrating his 103 birthday with staff, friends and family and some special guests.
Herbert, who has lived all his life in Islington, was delighted when Cllr Phil Kelly, Mayor of Islington, and Jeremy Corbyn, MP for Islington North, popped in to wish him happy birthday.
Herbert ran JD Davies, in Holloway Road, a business established by his grandfather in 1882. During the Second World War he was part of the Auxiliary Fire Service and was tasked with protecting the Houses of Parliament during the blitz.
Manager Florence Clarke said: “Everyone had a great time. It was a wonderful party and Herbert was very pleased to have so many friends and visitors joining in the celebrations.”
