Heather View fulfils “Brownie Promise” with donation to local group

Residents at Heather View took a trip down memory lane when they visited the 2nd Crowborough Brownies Group and presented them with a donation of £150 to support building repairs.

Two of the residents who took part in the trip themselves were Girl Guides in their younger years; Florence Martin is a former Brown Owl and Patricia Mathewick was a Girl Guide helper. Together, they shared their happy memories of their time with the Brownies.

Home manager, Natasha King, said: “Here at Heather View, we value our links to the community, and we are always looking for new ways to support local groups. Many of the residents have cherished memories of their time as a Brownie or a Girl Guide, so visiting the 2ndCrowborough Brownies Group was a fantastic opportunity for residents to reminisce and connect with younger people.

“Intergenerational relationships are proven to be enriching for all ages; they can reduce the feelings of isolation for older people, and provide an opportunity for both children and residents to learn from each other.”
