The team at Heather View took part in its first community event – the Crowborough Fun Day - on 4th June and raised nearly £200 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
This popular annual event drew an estimated 4,500 people this year and there was plenty to keep the crowds occupied including a French market, live music, bouncy castle, face painting, Punch and Judy show and dozens of stalls.
The Heather View stall featured a ‘Pick a Lolly, Win a Prize’ game, Tombola (with some excellent prizes), a buzz wire game, a Dot-to-Dot competition, and give away helium balloons.
Sara Goodwin, Project Manager of Heather View Care Home said, "The Crowborough Fun Day is an excellent event for the community - it's wonderful to see everyone in the town come together. It has also been a great opportunity for some of Heather View’s staff to meet local people and we look forward to being involved in many more community events in the future."
Heather View’s donation was presented to Joan Brookbank, who runs the Alzheimer’s Society’s North Wealdon dementia support service (Action in rural Sussex). “I would like to thank the team of Heather View for their donation which they collected at the fun day in Crowborough.” she said, ”It was a most enjoyable day drawing many people to Crowborough and encouraging new comers such as Heather View to join in. I wish them every success in the future”.
