Hollins is celebrating after it was recognised at a national awards ceremony.
The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards recognise individual and team excellence at more than 100 care homes nationwide across Care UK’s RCS division.
Hollins Park beat off stiff competition to win the Home of the Year award, one of the 22 accolades handed out during the event.
The panel of judges praised the home’s outstanding and consistent quality in its care of residents. It was the home’s commitment to the residents and the atmosphere the team has created which judges felt set Hollins Park apart from its competitors in the category.
Hollins Park continuously strives to be innovative and fulfill the lives of residents with trips out based around their interests, such as Truck Fest, visits to the horse-riding stables and arranging a date night with residents and their spouses.
The care home encourages residents to see Hollins Park as their home by taking them to a local hardware shop to pick paint and wall paper, and then helping them to decorate in their own style. The team at Hollins Park has also developed values for the home, which are based on what the residents feel they should be, and these have been incorporated into the home’s dignity tree.
Tracy Norbury, home manager at Hollins Park, said: “The RCS award ceremony was a truly inspirational evening – it was brilliant to hear about the compassion and dedication of team members, as well as the positive impact this has had on residents, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.
“The team and I are thrilled that Hollins Park has been crowned Home of the Year. We see the residents as part of our family and are very proud of the warm, friendly and caring environment we have created.
“It is wonderful to see our commitment to the home and the residents recognised with this award. Each and every team member is dedicated to making Hollins Park a wonderful place to call home, and this award really is testament to their hard work”.
