Cherry Orchard is inviting local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
On Saturday 21st April, from 1pm-5pm, the team at Cherry Orchard will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Cherry Orchard has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include a 1950s themed street party, traditional games including hoopla and a coconut shy. There will also be a special afternoon tea – fit for a queen.
Michelle di Bella, home manager at Cherry Orchard, said: “At Cherry Orchard, we’re always looking for ways to get to know our neighbours better and build relationships with the local community. Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of bringing generations together for a fun-filled day, showcasing all that the home has to offer.
“We look forward to welcoming the people of Dagenham, for what promises to be another fantastic open day.”
