Collingwood Court is inviting local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
On Saturday 21st April, from 11am-3pm, the team at Collingwood Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Collingwood Court has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. Visitors will be able to enjoy traditional high tea. There will also be a reminiscence session for residents and visitors. Visitors will also have a chance to meet Collingwood Court’s friendly team and take a closer look at the care home.
Maggie Harrison, home manager at Collingwood Court, said: “At Collingwood Court, we’re always looking for ways to get to know our neighbours better and build relationships with the local community. Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of bringing generations together for a fun-filled day, showcasing all that the home has to offer.
“We look forward to welcoming the people of North Shields for what promises to be another fantastic open day.”
