Cumberland is inviting local people to visit the home on Friday 16th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
From 12 noon-4pm, the team at Cumberland will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Cumberland has organised a summer garden party to celebrate the open day. Guests will be able to sample a delicious selection of food and snacks from a variety of international cuisines, prepared by the home’s chefs. There will also be live entertainment from Troubadour productions who will be performing ‘Trains and Boats and Planes’, as well as musical entertainment throughout the afternoon to get everyone in the party spirit.
For those feeling brave, there will be the chance to make some furry and not so furry friends with visiting animals from Zoo Lab.
Tamba Lamina, home manager at Cumberland, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“We cannot wait to open our doors to the community to showcase everything Cumberland has to offer and the difference care homes make to residents’ lives and their wellbeing. We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Mitcham.”
