Join Echelforde for a royal celebration this Care Home Open Day

April 16th 2018

Echelforde is inviting local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

On Saturday 21st April, from 1.30pm-5pm, Echelforde will be welcoming the local community for a fun-filled afternoon, including a visit from special guests the Mayor of the Borough of Ashford Councillor, Winston Michael, and Mayoress Doreen Michael.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy afternoon tea in the home’s coffee shop, and will be able to take part in an art workshop led by Creative Station. Visitors can also try their luck in a raffle and browse a bric-a-brac stall.

Home manager at Echelforde, Jagpal Singh, added: “Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of getting to know our neighbours even better, and supporting intergenerational relationships between residents and younger guests. We have plenty of activities and entertainment on offer for all the family, so we hope that the local community will join our celebrations.”

In the heart of Ashford, Surrey, Echelforde is a purpose-built care home, delivering person-centred care.

Taking time to know each resident, our compassionate teams understand that a smile or pleasant word goes a long way. Learning their preferences, favourite activities and life story, allow these details to be included in their tailored care plan. This plan is regularly updated and also includes meticulously kept medical notes.

Providing residents with a warm and welcoming home, Echelforde offers comfortable, spacious lounges, beautiful dining rooms, a hair and beauty salon, shop and a bar. Outside the gardens are perfect for a quiet stroll, or some gentle exercise. If they wish, residents are welcome to join in with a little light gardening. Activities, such as quizzes, handcrafts and singing, or outings to local attractions, take place regularly, and residents can join in or look for a one-to-one session if they prefer. We also foster strong connections with the local community and many residents enjoy socialising with their new friends.
