A resident a Priors House is on cloud nine after a surprise visit to the Last Night of the Summer Proms.
Since a young age, resident Rosemary Philpott, who lives at Priors House, has always loved classical music. So much so, she made a wish upon the home’s ‘Wishing Tree’ to go to the opera.
Team members at Priors House have made Rosemary’s wish come true – by surprising her with a trip to the Last Night of the Summer Proms held at The Royal Symphony Hall, Birmingham.
Union Jack in hand, Rosemary was treated to a superb evening of uplifting classics, finished with a jubilant Proms finale. Prom favourites included The Dam Busters March, Britannia! and The Land of Hope and Glory.
Rosemary said: “It was a fantastic evening and such a wonderful surprise. I had wished to see an opera and so cannot thank the Lifestyle team enough for this special experience.”
Priors House home manager, Francine Summers, commented: “We always like to go the extra-mile to grant the residents wishes. I am really pleased that we were able to grant this wish for Rosemary.
“Rosemary had a wonderful evening, and you could see from her reaction just how thrilled she was to experience a live Proms concert. We are looking forward to granting the next wish for one of the residents very soon.”
