Lauder Lodge was joined by the local community to celebrate its first birthday.
To mark the special day, the team at Lauder Lodge, invited the local community to attend a fun-filled afternoon of celebrations.
Residents and visitors enjoyed entertainment across all three floors, with local artists performing some of the residents’ favourite songs from across the decades. Meanwhile, there were plenty of party games to get involved in, including ‘pass the parcel’.
Completing the day in true birthday style, guests were treated to a buffet and birthday cake specially prepared by the care home’s chefs.
Michelle Reid, home manager at Lauder Lodge, said: “We had a wonderful time celebrating this first significant milestone at Lauder Lodge and reflecting on the last twelve months. Over the course of the year we have welcomed all sorts of animals to visit the home, from ponies to birds of prey, participated in World Poetry Day, raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, and even unveiled a golf putting green for the residents.
“Our first anniversary is a special milestone for Lauder Lodge and it was a joy to host this event alongside our residents and the local community. We are very proud of the strong relationships we have built with the people of Edinburgh, and we look forward to welcoming the community back to visit us in the near future.”
