New home manager to take the helm of Millers Grange

Millers Grange has announced the appointment of its home manager.

Care UK has appointed Steve Reader as home manager of its new home, Millers Grange. 

Steve will lead the team at the new care home when it opens in spring 2019, having previously spent over 15 years working within the care sector, including 30 years as a mental health nurse. 

Steve has a variety of relevant qualifications in care, including a Diploma of Higher Education in Mental Health Nursing, and he prides himself on his strong work ethic. His new position will see him take responsibility for the day-to-day running of Millers Grange, which will accommodate up to 56 residents.

During his career, Steve has focused his approach to management on dedication, pride and leading by example to implement a person-focused culture. 

Commenting on his new position, Steve said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the home manager at Millers Grange, and I am excited to lead a skilled and supportive team when we open the doors next spring.

“I believe that in order to be a successful home manager you need to be caring, supportive, empowering, and always empathetic. Commissioning a brand-new care home has always been an ambition of mine, so I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter here in Witney. 

“More than anything, I am excited to get to know and spend time with the residents, knowing they are having an enjoyable and fulfilled time at a happy home.”
