An NHS diagnostic and treatment centre in High Wycombe has acquired a new image processor which will provide clearer images and be able to scan more patients than before.
The Mid and South Buckinghamshire NHS Diagnostic Centre provides fast and convenient access to high quality diagnostic imaging procedures. The clinical team uses the latest technology to deliver x-ray, ultrasound, echocardiogram and MRI scanning. The centre is run by independent sector health and social care provider, Care UK, on behalf of the NHS.
Michelle Saunders, service manager, said: “We have invested in an FCR CAPSULA XXII (Fuji film) image processor which replaces the previous processor which had started to wear. The new equipment is much faster and the images are better and clearer. We are also able to see more patients with the new processor.
“This demonstrates Care UK’s determination to invest in the services we run to ensure we offer the best possible treatment to patients.”
Alongside the diagnostic centre, Care UK runs the Buckinghamshire Musculoskeletal Integrated Care Service (MusIC). This provides high quality assessment and treatment including physiotherapy and specialist musculoskeletal GP appointments if you are an NHS patient living in Buckinghamshire with a problem with your joints, muscles, ligaments or nerves. Buckinghamshire MusIC works from eight locations in existing health centres and hospitals across the county.
