New management team aims for the top

October 26th 2010

Patients at Eccleshill NHS Treatment Centre are set to benefit from an improved patient experience, thanks to an expanded management team.

Care UK, the new operator of the centre, has appointed four senior managers to help ensure an excellent level of service for local people.

Patient satisfaction at the centre is already good but the new team aims to raise the bar and brings with them a combined 90 years experience.

The new team consists of Clinical Director Carmel Ramage, Clinical Services Manager, Michelle Rhodes, GP Liaison Sharon Cordingley and Commercial Manager Steve Booker.

Carmel is a consultant Urogynaecologist currently working at Bradford Royal Infirmary, she will provide clinical leadership to Eccleshill and be a conduit between the team and Bradford consultants, who are providing their services at the Treatment Centre.

Michelle has 18 years experience in the NHS, commencing as a theatre nurse and progressing in to management.  Sharon has worked with local GPs for over four years, while Steve Booker brings with him 20 years experience, which included a period working for Deloitte.

Patricia Warwick General Manager – Mobilisation, said, “The management team is here to support the first class clinical staff, who are delivering excellent patient care to local people in Leeds and Bradford.  Over the coming months the team aims to ensure that the standard is maintained while at the same time looking at ways to improve the service.

“A particular focus is patient waiting times.  We are offering patients a very short patient pathway and the team will be looking at how we can maintain these results, while also providing first class care.

The treatment centre in Eccleshill provides a range of NHS services, varying from treating hernias to minor foot and knee procedures, to patients across Bradford and Airedale, and Leeds.

The centre has its own X-ray, MRI, ultrasound and CT scanners so the centre can provide direct access diagnostics to GPs and their patients without the need for an additional hospital appointment.
