Pear Tree Court’s first birthday circus extravaganza a success

Home news

Pear Tree Court treated the local community to a magical day to mark the home’s first birthday.

Pear Tree Court’s first birthday circus extravaganza a success

To celebrate the milestone, the team at Pear Tree Court hosted a circus-themed birthday bash. Guests were invited to step right up and enjoy an array of entertainment, from jugglers and fire-eaters to snake charmers and dancers, as well as a magician.

Hannah’s Holiday Homes was also crowned as the winner of the ‘Hampshire Heroes’ competition, and presented with a trophy, as well as £300 to support future projects. The competition was launched by Pear Tree Court earlier this year in order to reward local people or organisations who go above and beyond for their community, friends or family.

The Waterlooville-based charity, which was set up in memory of Hannah Westbrook, a local ten-year-old child who suffered from Hodgkin’s disease, supports children’s oncology wards, and offers well-deserved holidays to patients and their families in one of their three luxurious homes, all set in family parks in Hampshire.

Residents and visitors also had the opportunity to have their fortune told by a psychic, and tapped their feet to live music from Wannabe Entertainment, while younger guests mastered their balloon-modelling skills during a special workshop.

Ray Arnold, home manager at Pear Tree Court, said: “We were delighted to welcome Pam Marshall, from Hannah’s Holiday Homes, as well as so many members of the local community to join us to toast our special milestone. The whole team worked hard to organise a circus-themed event, and I am delighted to say that their efforts were rewarded – our birthday party will definitely be one to remember for years to come. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us for making the day extra special.

“It’s been a busy year. We’ve welcomed some real characters to the home, built relationships with brilliant local organisations, and worked hard to create a real home-from-home environment for everyone who spends time with us here at Pear Tree Court. We’re excited to see what’s in store for next year!”

Pam Marshall from Hannah’s Holiday Homes said: “We were honoured to receive the first prize of the Hampshire Heroes competition. With 50 families booked in already, we have a busy year ahead of us, so Pear Tree Court’s support will be a great boost. We had a lovely time celebrating the home’s first birthday, and we hope to visit again in the future!”
