A local care home was reopened by a special guest after undergoing a £300,000 investment.
Local MP, Douglas Carswell, performed the ceremonial ribbon cutting at Care UK’s Haven Lodge on Reckitts Close to mark the care home’s refurbishment at a special open day event.
Residents were joined by the Clacton-on-Sea community for a day of family-friendly fun. There was live entertainment from James Cowdery, who performed a host of wartime favourites which got everyone in the party spirit.
The refurbishment has seen a full redevelopment of the care home across the home’s two floors, including updates to the decoration and furniture in residents’ lounges, dining rooms and corridors.
Dave Connelly, home manager at Haven Lodge, said: “We were delighted to welcome MP Douglas Carswell on this very special day, and it was wonderful to open the doors to Haven Lodge and celebrate this milestone with the local community. Everyone enjoyed the fun entertainment and it was great to showcase the warm and caring environment we have created.”
