Sandfields care home has got crafty with a local secondary school as it launched its all-inclusive activities club.
Sandfields care home has joined forces with All Saints Academy to start an activities club in which residents and students take part in different projects together.
The school recently visited the home and took part in a Christmas decorations craft workshop, making paper chains and decorative snowflakes with the care home residents.
Deanna Lane, home manager at Sandfields, said: “It was lovely to see the residents and students interacting together in the craft workshop. It’s great for the residents to socialise with the pupils as it builds their confidence and acts as an invaluable reminiscence activity.
“Here at Sandfields, we advocate activity-based care and encourage the residents to get involved in different activities to keep their independence and help to lead fulfilled lives. We are looking forward to inviting the students back to the home for more workshops together.”
