A care home in Stansted is celebrating after it was recognised at a national awards ceremony.
The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards recognise individual and team excellence at more than 120 care homes nationwide across Care UK’s RCS division.
Mountfitchet House, on Coltsfield, beat the competition to take home the Best Dining Experience award, one of 20 accolades handed out during the event.
Nominated for the second year in a row, the panel of judges praised the home for continuing to deliver a luxury dining experience with a personal touch and providing nutritional, tasty meals. However, it was the Mountfitchet House team’s consistent efforts to involve residents in designing the menu which judges felt set Mountfitchet House apart from competitors in the category.
Allison Squires, home manager at Mountfitchet House said: “The award ceremony was a truly inspirational evening – it was brilliant to hear about the dedication of team members, as well as the positive impact this has had on residents, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.
“Here at Mountfitchet House, we strive to ensure mealtimes are an enjoyable experience and an opportunity for social engagement. Residents are involved with every aspect, from designing the menu, to laying the tables.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to the team for all of their hard work. Every single person is such a valuable part of the team and I really appreciate their dedication to ensuring Mountfitchet House is a wonderful place to live.”
Mountfitchet House has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home provides full-time residential and nursing care, as well as short-term respite.
