The Potteries took part in a nationwide event, Cupcake Day, to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.
The residents and team members at The Potteries came prepared with stirring spoons and piping bags as they got busy in the kitchen baking a variety of tasty treats to raise money for a good cause.
Relatives and guests visiting the home were invited to enjoy a leisurely cuppa with residents, while sampling the homemade cakes – all of which were available for a small donation to Alzheimer’s Society.
After a busy day of offering up cupcakes to relative and friends, the residents and team members at The Potteries had raised £50 for Alzheimer’s Society.
The Potteries home manager, Zita Turner, said: “At Care UK, we are always looking at ways of showing our support for charities and the local community, and we are delighted that we were able to raise awareness of this very worthwhile cause that is close to the hearts of many here at The Potteries.
“The residents had a wonderful time baking some delicious treats and reminiscing about favourite foods they cooked in their younger years. It was a great success, and we were thrilled that so many friends of The Potteries came to enjoy the homemade cakes that the residents had spent time preparing.”
