There’s something for everyone at the Darlington Court pantomime

December 5th 2012

Songs, colourful outfits and a host of fun characters, old and new, will greet visitors to Care UK’s Darlington Court residential home, Rustington, when the curtain goes up on its latest pantomime production on Friday 21st December.

‘Robin of Crusoe’ tells a lively tale of pirates, desert islands, treasure, damsels in distress and heroes and villains, all accompanied by well-known songs for the audience to join in with.

Helene Bull, the home’s Activities Coordinator and the writer and director, said: “As always, the Darlington Court team have thrown themselves into the production. They have been coming back after work to rehearse for weeks and I have caught some of them singing and rehearsing their lines as they go around the home.

“We all love putting on the pantomime, as it is a favourite with the residents and their relatives, and it really creates a great atmosphere in the run-up to Christmas. We also like to invite the community in to see the production, as we have a great many friends and supporters for whom this has become an annual treat and the start to the year’s celebrations.”

Residents and relatives get an exclusive sneak peak at this year’s show when the team take to the stage at the home in the Leas, off Station Road, on Monday 17th December and members of the public are invited to the show on Friday 21st December at 3pm.

Every aspect of life at Darlington Court care home in West Sussex is centred around making residents feel comfortable and pampered. The teams work hard to make every day different, whether that means preparing a themed dinner to celebrate a big event, or treating residents to hand and Indian head massages, courtesy of the visiting aromatherapist.
