Residents at Bowes House were joined by the local community when they took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to raise over £65 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Bowes House opened the doors to welcome local people for a morning filled with tasty treats.
The team at Bowes House had been busy whipping up their best cakes, which were available for everyone to enjoy for a small donation to Macmillan. With plenty of coffee and treats to hand, residents and guests enjoyed a relaxing morning full of catch-ups and chatting – while helping to raise money for a good cause.
The home also held its very own ‘Bake Off’ competition, and Jackie Grove who created a lemon drizzle cake was crowned the star baker by a panel of judges.
Helena Barrow, home manager at Bowes House, commented: “We want to say a big thank you to the local people of Hailsham who came along to the coffee morning and helped us raise over £65 for Macmillan Cancer Support – a charity close to the hearts of many here at Bowes House.
“We are always looking for opportunities to welcome the local community to the home, and the coffee morning proved to be a great success. The residents all had a fantastic time and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next year.”
