Residents and team members at Hartismere Place were delighted when a sculpture they have sponsored for the Eye Art Sculpture Trail arrived at the home.
Based on the fable of the Tortoise and The Hare, the sculpture trail aims to raise money for The Blossom Charity, which seeks to develop and improve the lives of people living in East Anglia.
Abhilash Gopi, home manager at Hartismere Place, said: “We’re thrilled to be sponsoring Colonel Tom the Gentlehare as part of the Eye Trail of Hope. Here at Hartismere Place, we are keen to play an active role in our local community and so we’re delighted to be able to support The Blossom Charity.
“Residents and team members have thoroughly enjoyed being part of this initiative, as well as paying tribute to Sir Tom, who has inspired everyone here at Hartismere Place. We have loved having Colonel Tom the Gentlehare at the home for a few days, and residents are looking forward to visiting the sculpture at its new home outside of the church in Eye as soon as we are safely able.”
Hartismere Place has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home provides full-time residential and nursing care, as well as short-term respite.
