We always knew it, but now it is official - our Senior Care Assistant, Lindsey Cleary, is a star and both Star Radio and the Sunderland Echo agree.
Lindsey lifted the glass star trophy at this year’s Star Radio Local Hero awards as well as being named an Unsung Hero at the Sunderland Echo Best of Health Awards.
This year’s Sunderland Echo Best of Health Awards honoured unsung heroes who have made a difference to the lives of those who are ill or need care and her award from Star Radio recognised the work she does supporting the health and wellbeing of residents through her dedication and hard work.
Leesa Tallon, our Administrator, nominated Lindsey for both awards. She said: “I nominated Lindsey because she is such a caring and empathetic person. Every day she goes the extra mile to ensure everyone is well cared for.
“She cares for everyone, residents and colleagues alike, and she works very hard with people with communications problems so that they have what they want and that their care plans reflect them as individuals.”
Lindsey said: “I was shocked to hear I had won both awards. I love my job and I enjoy working with older people. I find I learn so much from hearing our residents’ stories and I hope I contribute to making their lives here as happy and rewarding as possible.”
Lindsey is taking the Star Radio award home to show her mother, but then she will return it to the home so that residents and visitors can see the awards that she says everyone helped to win.
