Every member of the team at Oxbow Manor will be passionate about supporting your loved one to enjoy each day.
Gardening, cooking, themed parties, cheese and wine afternoons, quizzes, barbecues, music and exercise sessions – whatever your loved one enjoys, we promise it will be part of the activities programme at Oxbow Manor in Shrewsbury when we open in February 2022. That’s because we believe in supporting residents to enjoy meaningful lifestyles.
Does your loved one have a favourite hobby that they’d like to continue? Perhaps there’s an interest that they’d like to revisit? Do they have a wish they’d like to fulfil? It will all be possible here.
Linking with the community
While we will run various daily small group activities, we appreciate that some people prefer to spend time one-to-one. Our compassionate and engaging team will ensure that there’s always time for your loved one. If they would like to continue attending a local church, club or group, we’ll support them to do so, or to enjoy pub lunches or shopping trips (we’re next to the Percy Thrower Garden Centre, founded by the famous TV gardener).
Exploring the Shrewsbury area
We’re looking forward to exploring everything Shrewsbury has to offer. Oxbow Manor is in Sutton, only a couple of miles from the city’s historic centre, with its many ancient buildings, cathedral and castle, art gallery and the stunning green spaces of the Dingle and the Quarry. We’re less than ten miles from the Welsh border too, and the towns of the West Midlands and North West are all within easy reach. The challenge is going to be deciding where to visit first!
Dine in style at Oxbow Manor
If you’re wondering what will be on the menu in our new care home, it all comes down to what your loved one enjoys. Our chef-led catering team will create a variety of tempting and nutritious options for each meal, all tailored to residents’ tastes.
The head chef will meet your loved one when they move in, and learn about their favourite foods. Our teams receive the latest training in catering for all dietary needs, including modified diets, and cultural and religious dietary requirements. Enjoying great food is an important part of everyday life for Care UK residents.
We’re looking forward to setting up a Facebook page for Oxbow Manor closer to our opening day, so you can keep up-to-date with the latest from our team and residents. In the meantime, if you’d like to get a sense of how Care UK residents enjoy each day, take a look at our main Care UK Facebook page.
