At Snowdrop House, we believe in helping residents to stay as active and independent as possible. Our activity co-ordinators plan, organise and run activities based around residents’ interests.
The activities that we run at Snowdrop House range from baking and gardening, to quizzes, music sessions and games, watching local entertainers, chatting with visiting schoolchildren, or cuddling visiting Pets as Therapy animals. We encourage each resident to suggest ideas for activities and choose what they would like to do - we’ll always do our best to make them happen.
Our teams have been working had to forge close links with local groups and schools. With lots of new friends visiting us from the local community, the new care home – and its residents – will quickly come to feel a part of Ware life.
Enjoying good food
Good food plays a key part in the health and wellbeing of care home residents, and they really look forward to what our catering teams serve up. Our chefs plan and prepare delicious and nutritious meals made from the best ingredients and cater for all tastes, diets and cultural requirements.
We believe in offering plenty of choice to tempt even the most fastidious of appetites, and there are bound to be tasty snacks and treats on offer for morning coffee or afternoon tea. What’s more, residents who are keen bakers are more than welcome to make whatever sweet treats they fancy – particularly if everyone gets to enjoy them!
Time to celebrate
We always make a fuss when there’s a birthday or anniversary too, and will be happy to work with you to make your loved one’s day extra special. We make sure that there’s always something to look forward to, and we’ll be sure to celebrate annual events like Valentine’s Day or religious and cultural festivals with special food and drink, events and activities.
Keeping happy and healthy
The team at Snowdrop House are committed to ensuring that residents stay happy and healthy. We have developed a close working relationship with local health centres and GP surgeries, and with other healthcare providers. We also ensure that a range of professionals visit the home on a regular, as well as an as-needed basis, including physiotherapists, opticians, dentists, occupational therapists and audiologists.
