Everything we do is decided by club members. If your loved one has an idea for a new activity, we’ll do our best to make it happen.
Each day is different at our Haverhill day club, depending on what members fancy doing. We might have a singalong, do some arts and crafts, get active with an exercise session or some gardening, or stage our own mini ‘Bake Off’. Some members are living with dementia, so we like to include reminiscence sessions, as well as word and memory games and quizzes.
Enjoy fun and friendship
Day club members quickly become firm friends: we’re a welcoming club with a family atmosphere. Members love to chat together over a game, or some knitting, or while they’re helping in the garden. Equally, if your loved one likes their own company, they can have some quiet time, reading or doing an activity on their own or with one of our team. The Cleves Club is all about doing what makes you happy.
Some club members enjoy helping around the club, whether it’s preparing for an activity, laying the tables for lunch, or washing up afterwards, as this gives them a sense of achievement.
Good food in great company
When it comes to meal times, these are a social event when everyone sits down together to enjoy a tasty and nutritious chef-made lunch. If anyone needs a little extra support to eat, we help them with discretion and dignity.
Then, afterwards, we might head over to Cleves Place to watch a film in the cinema, have a pamper session in the hair salon or have a coffee in the café.
