Hartismere Club members decide how they want to spend their day. We’re here to help them enjoy their day to the full.
Each day is different at our Eye day club. That’s because what we do is decided by club members, who have different hobbies and interests. They might be in the mood for a game, some gardening or getting together for a music session.
Designed around day club members
When members told us they were keen to keep mobile and active, we set up a regular exercise class. We also play a variety of games, do arts and crafts, quizzes, and we even have food tasting sessions, including foods from other countries.
Some of our members are living with dementia, so we include reminiscence sessions too, as well as word and memory games, so that we can help them to keep their cognitive skills active.
Choose from group and one-to-one activities
Some members like to have some quiet time, so we’ll support them to do an activity on their own or with one of our team. Others enjoy helping around the club, and help us to set up activities or wash up after lunch.
The facilities in Hartismere Place, the care home next door, are often in demand from club members. The homemade cake in the coffee shop is always a big draw – as are pamper sessions in the hair salon!
