If you’re new to Care UK, you might be interested to know that we’re the UK’s largest independent provider of health and social care, and the leading choice for residential care for older people.
We deliver a wide range of services and support for older people, from care at home to the array of services we provide in our 100+ care homes and day care centres around the UK.
Designed for life
Step inside a Care UK care home and be prepared to leave the typical view of care homes behind. Life goes on in style here. Our newest homes have their own cinema, coffee shop and hair salon – creating a lively community atmosphere where residents can catch their favourite movie (complete with popcorn), enjoy a cappuccino and a slice of cake with visitors, or a quick pamper and chat with the hairdresser. There are also light and spacious lounges and sitting areas for activities or just sitting and relaxing.
At Care UK we work with every resident – and their family – to get to know them, their likes/dislikes, hobbies and interests and life history. Only when we feel we really understand a person do we create a care plan that’s entirely suited to their individual personality, needs and goals.
Independence is the key
Keeping active and independent is central to life in any Care UK care home, and we make sure that residents play an active part in the life of the home, from telling us their ideas and feedback in regular residents’ meetings, to helping out around the home if they wish, and continuing to enjoy their hobbies and interests. Spending quality time with family and friends is vital too, so our homes welcome visitors at any time of the day.
Making the most of every day
Many residents discover a whole new lease of life in our care homes and get to do many things they wouldn’t have experienced on their own. We’ll do anything to bring a smile to a resident’s face and make them feel valued.
Expect regular outings to the local pub (a few of our homes even have their own bars) and trips to the theatre, seaside (if it’s close by), local attractions as well as shops and garden centres.
Pets as Therapy animals make a regular appearance, and many homes have their own favourite local entertainers who are invited to perform by popular demand!
Support for you and your loved one
Hopefully you’re starting to see care homes in a different light. Even so, we understand that the process of finding the right care home for your loved one can be difficult for all the family.
We’ll work with you to make the process, and their move, as straightforward as possible, ensuring that your loved one always maintains their independence, dignity and identity.
