At Whitebourne, we get to know every person we care for, finding out about their interests, so that we can arrange appealing activities.
We believe that, when a person is doing things they enjoy in an environment where they feel valued, they’ll feel secure, happy and fulfilled. We therefore find out everything we can about each new resident, so we can make their care and experiences unique and special to them.
Every day is different at Whitebourne
If your loved one enjoys the familiarity and reassurance of doing routine tasks around the home – perhaps helping in the garden or doing some dusting – we encourage them to do just that. We have home pets too, which they’re welcome to help care for.
Our caring and passionate teams have gone above and beyond to make sure that residents’ lives remain not only as normal as they can, but have spent time both adapting some favourite activities, as well as developing new ones, to ensure everyone can enjoy fun and engaging things to do every day while maintaining social distance and keeping safe.
Activities can range from quizzes and creative sessions to gentle exercise and reminiscence.
Home teams have embraced new technology, helping to keep residents in contact with loved ones, organising virtual entertainment, and even helping to make some new friends in the local community too.
Time to dine
Everyone enjoys the delicious and nutritious meals served up by our chef-led kitchen team. There’s a wide choice of dishes designed around residents’ tastes and their dietary and cultural needs. Colleagues sit with residents to encourage them to eat and, while we support people to eat independently, we will always support your loved one if they need it. . Alternatively, we are also able to offer an enhanced in-room dining service with a wide range of tasty and nutritious meals and snacks for those who prefer, or need, additional distancing.
