2019 WINNER Leader of the Future – Omar Taylor
The national Leaders in Care Awards organised by Care Home Professional and Home Care Insight magazines are designed to recognise leaders and visionaries in social care.
The Leader of the Future Award honours the up and coming stars in the industry who are making waves and climbing up the career ladder through the demonstration of leadership, passion and new ideas.
His three promotions over the past three years combined with his talent in leading a team to deliver the very best in care for older people saw Regional Director Omar Taylor win the Leader of the Future Award.
On winning his award Omar said: "I'm shocked to find I've won this trophy. I can't wait to show it to the teams in the homes that I support and say thank you to them as well. Without their hard work and dedication to sharing my mission to deliver fantastic care for each and every resident, I wouldn't even have been shortlisted.”
An impressive shortlist
Despite being open to every social care provider in the country, Care UK was also shortlisted for two other awards at the same event but sadly missed out on the top prizes.
Judges shortlisted Care UK in the Care Provider of the Year category for being committed to supporting its 10,000 residents to lead fulfilling lives, while employing and training an additional 3,000 staff in new build homes over the last seven years.
Tracy Norbury from Hollins Park in Macclesfield was shortlisted too. Described as a visionary Manager, her combination of experience, empathy and compassion, and her determination to provide the best care for the home's 48 residents saw her reach the final of the ‘Registered Care Home Manager of the Year' category.
