Our lifestyle team pride themselves on organising fun activities and entertainment for residents.
At Care UK we believe in activity based care. Keep busy by doing meaningful tasks can make a huge difference to a person’s sense of independence as they get older. Keeping active has also been proven to reduce falls and promote wellbeing.
Your day, your choice
We have our own lifestyle team who organise and run daily activities around resident’s hobbies and interests. Our socially distanced group activities range from quizzes and exercise classes, to gardening, flower arranging, music sessions and film afternoons.
We’ll do anything to bring a smile to a resident’s face and make them feel valued.
For those keen to stay closer to home, the care home’s gardens are a lovely spot for sitting and enjoying the sunshine and bird life. We have courtyard and patio areas, wheelchair-friendly pathways (all of Winchcombe Place is wheelchair accessible) as well as raised beds to make it easier if residents want to help with some gardening.
Getting out and about
Winchcombe Place is in a great location close to major road links as well as Newbury station. Newbury Racecourse is just up the road, as is the pretty Kennet and Avon Canal with its many river trips. Further afield are the historic towns of Henley and Marlborough and stunning stately homes like Highclere Castle (better known as Downton Abbey).
