At Care UK, we work closely with the UK’s leading dementia specialists to be at the leading edge of the very latest dementia thinking and insight, so that we can provide the very best support to residents living with dementia and those in the community caring for an older loved one with dementia.
Dr Nori Graham, Vice President of the Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Disease International, has been providing her expert guidance to our care home teams since 2013, as well as delivering informative sessions in our homes to local people seeking help and support with dementia. Her belief that the cornerstone of great care is understanding each resident as an individual, has shaped Care UK’s person-centred approach to care.
There is a lot of myth and misinformation about dementia. This book is intended for anyone who has dementia or may be worried that they or their family and friends have dementia.Dr Nori Graham
In her new book, co-authored with Dr James Warner, ‘A Pocket Guide to Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias’, Dr Nori Graham shares her knowledge in the pursuit of helping those who think they may be suffering with dementia, those supporting a loved one with dementia or those seeking to gain a better understanding of what Alzheimer’s is and how it develops. Her helpful guide explains the signs, symptoms, and treatment of dementia, as well as providing critical signposts on where to seek further help.
This ‘pocket’-sized guide packs a full-size punch… it dispels much of the stigma and understanding associated with the disease and offers practical guidance and support.Angela Rippon, CBE
